Enabling Agentic AI

The adoption of agentic AI in government service delivery represents one of the UAE Government’s latest strategic priorities. In this regard, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has spared no effort in pursuing leadership in this field. ICP has developed plans and begun implementation to integrate agentic AI into 50% of its services, in collaboration with the relevant committee at the General Secretariat of the UAE Cabinet.

ICP has also sought to explore global best practices in this field through its participation in the UAE AI CEOs delegation that visited the United States from 14 to 19 September 2026. The visit aimed to examine practical applications and use cases developed by 12 technology companies specialising in building and developing agentic AI platforms, with a focus on understanding approaches to the safe and responsible adoption of AI and exchanging relevant expertise.

The visit is expected to significantly enhance ICP’s readiness to transition towards agentic AI-powered service delivery. Building on the government-level collaboration initiated during the visit, ICP aims to work with leading technology companies to develop deployment-ready prototypes, accelerate system development and testing, enable code generation and automated testing, and shorten digital service development cycles. Opportunities for collaboration with Google also include document and image processing, intelligent document verification, knowledge search, and the development of AI assistants for government services and operations.
