The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security launched 4 events across its various organizational units in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Umm Al Quwain to educate employees about the culture of community participation through the blood donation initiative, in order to enhance the values of giving and social responsibility among all employees of the Authority, in conjunction with the World Blood Donation Day.
In Abu Dhabi, the Authority carried out two blood donation events in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Health Services Company in the main center on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street and the Authority’s building in Khalifa City, and many employees participated in response to the Authority’s invitation to employees and urged them to participate in the community and enhance the solid values of giving on which the UAE is based.
In Dubai, several employees at Al Nahda Center for Customer Happiness donated blood at Dubai Blood Donation Center at Latifa Hospital. The management of the center educated employees about safe blood products and the importance of blood donation for human health and the need to help patients and the needy based on the values of human brotherhood.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Umm Al Quwain also launched the “Friends of the Blood Bank” event in cooperation with Umm Al Quwain General Hospital. The event aimed to encourage the largest number of employees to donate blood periodically, to consolidate the concepts of social responsibility and the culture of volunteerism among the Directorate’s employees, based on the humanitarian principles and values upon which the UAE was founded, and in implementation of the visionary leadership’s directives on the necessity of preserving human health, cooperation and solidarity among the people of the country and raising the quality of life.
In this context, His Excellency Brigadier General Khalid Youssef bin Hudayba, Executive Director of the Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Umm Al Quwain, was keen to be at the forefront of blood donors to motivate employees. His Excellency said on this occasion: “These events embody the human values adopted by the UAE and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, and confirm its keenness to carry out its responsibilities towards society and instill the values of cohesion and social giving among its staff at the state level.”
