Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) declared that the ID card will be required to perform all its official transactions provided to the public.
As published in Al Khaleej newspaper, ADJD indicated that its decision requiring the use of the ID card in its transactions aims to simplify procedures for clients by benefiting from the services provided by the ID card.
The deadline for registration in the population register and ID card system for residents of Abu Dhabi is 31 March 2012. Children below 15 years across the State are excluded from this deadline until 1 October 2012.
Holders of residence visas expiring before 31 December 2012 are also excluded in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah from the deadline set for each emirate. They should register in the system upon renewing their residence during the current year.
The number of ministries, local and federal authorities and institutions requiring the ID card in their transactions has reached more than 150 entities throughout the State.
