Kuwaiti Delegation Visits UAE Customs and Tours Zayed International Airport and Khatm Al Shiklah Border Crossing

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security welcomed an official delegation from the General Administration of Customs of the sisterly State of Kuwait during a four-day visit (28–31 July 2026). The visit aimed to review best practices and exchange expertise with UAE Customs, Zayed International Airport, and the Khatm Al Shiklah Border Crossing, in support of enhancing customs operations and the management of border crossings between the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The delegation was received by His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Kuwaiti, Acting Director General of Ports, and His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah bin Lahej Al Falasi, Acting Director General of Customs and Port Security, in the presence of several executive directors. The Kuwaiti delegation was headed by His Excellency Yousef Khaled Al Nuwaif, Director General of the General Administration of Customs.

The Kuwaiti delegation commenced its visit on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, with a tour of the General Administration of Customs and Port Security, where it was received by His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah bin Lahej Al Falasi, together with a number of senior officials from the administration.

On the following day, the delegation conducted an inspection visit to Zayed International Airport to review the airport’s operational framework, passenger movement management mechanisms, and the key technologies and smart solutions implemented to facilitate procedures and enhance operational efficiency. During the visit, the delegation was received by His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Kuwaiti, His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah bin Lahej Al Falasi, and several executive directors.

On Thursday, 30 July 2026, the delegation also visited the Khatm Al Shiklah Border Crossing to examine the advanced technological systems deployed at the crossing, institutional integration mechanisms, and the operational procedures that contribute to expediting cross-border movement and improving the efficiency of the services provided.

His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Kuwaiti affirmed that the Kuwaiti delegation’s visit reflects the shared commitment to exchanging expertise and successful experiences in border management and customs inspection. He noted that such cooperation contributes to enhancing operational systems, strengthening readiness and operational efficiency, and supports the GCC’s strategic direction toward deeper integration and cooperation among authorities responsible for border crossings.

During the reception of the visiting delegation at the headquarters of the General Administration of Customs and Port Security on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah bin Lahej Al Falasi emphasized that the visit reflects the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the two sisterly countries and stems from the commitment of the wise leadership of both nations to strengthening cooperation and integration in the management of border crossings and the modernization of their systems.

At the conclusion of the visit, members of the Kuwaiti delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm hospitality and excellent organization. They commended the high level of progress and development achieved at the UAE’s border crossings and praised the integrated working environment they provide, which is aligned with the highest international standards.
