Saif Bin Zayed chairs Emirates Identity Authority Board Meeting

Emirates Identity Authority’s board commends the noticeable rise in number of registrants in population register and ID card and values the efforts of the Emirates Identity Authority’ employees

The board of directors of the Emirates Identity Authority held a meeting under the chairmanship of His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority.

The meeting, which was held at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters yesterday (Monday), was attended by the Emirates Identity Authority’s board members; namely, H.E. Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Labor, Major General Eng. Essa Saif Al Mazrouei, Awad Hadher Al Muhairi, Dr. Saeed Abdullah Al Ghafli, Brigadier Ali Al Dhaheri, Director General for Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police, and Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General.

The meeting discussed the Emirates Identity Authority’s most prominent development projects and a number of agenda items including customer service and the strategic and operating indicators of the initiatives of the projects listed in the Emirates Identity Authority’s strategic Plan 2010-2013, which achieved so fat 100 per cent of the targets of strategic indicators and 94 per cent of the targets of operating indicators.

The members of the meeting were briefed on the job rotation indicator at the Emirates Identity Authority over the past 6 months of this year. The 1.8 per cent indicator showed that work is attractive and job is stable at the Emirates Identity Authority.

The members were also briefed on a project for full linkage of population register and ID card registration procedures with the preventive medicine departments in 4 emirates; namely, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. Besides, the members were briefed on the same linkage procedures in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, which are scheduled to be gradually implemented due to the population density in these emirates.

The meeting discussed the electronic linkage project with civil status organizations and what had so far been achieved in this connection. It also discussed some other construction projects, particularly the inauguration of Sharjah permanent center scheduled to be opened in August.

In addition, the meeting reviewed the most important indicators for the financial data of the Emirates Identity Authority’s final statement of account for 2010. It also reviewed the report of the External Audit Bureau on the Emirates Identity Authority’s account and the completion phases of the project related to the interior designs of registration centers which helped double their capacity three times.

Meanwhile, the Emirates Identity Authority’s board commended the noticeable rise in the number of registrants in the population register and ID card and valued the efforts exerted by the Emirates Identity Authority’s employees.

The board also stressed the necessity to double efforts to achieve the targets of the strategic and operating indicators and activate the plans that would ensure full registration in the population register and ID card system.
