ICP Director General Calls for Accelerating Digital Transformation Efforts During Customs & Ports Meeting

H.E. Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), reviewed the latest developments in operational performance, key initiatives and development projects, as well as priorities for the next phase in the areas of digital transformation, institutional innovation, and the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies, during a periodic meeting held on Thursday, 4 June 2026, at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Customs and Ports Security in Dubai.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Ahmed Abdullah bin Lahej Al Falasi, Acting Director General of Customs and Ports Security; H.E. Ahmed Abdullah Al Khaili, Acting Executive Director of the Security Inspection Sector; H.E. Mohammed Sultan Al Neyadi, Acting Executive Director of the National Advance Information Centre Sector; and a number of officials.

During the meeting, His Excellency was briefed on operational developments and key improvement initiatives. Discussions also covered the latest methods and technologies being deployed across the working environment, as well as progress in digital transformation and opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence technologies to support operational processes and enhance institutional performance.

His Excellency stressed the importance of continuing to advance ICP’s digital ecosystem, accelerating the implementation of digital projects and initiatives, and maximising the use of artificial intelligence technologies across various areas of work. He noted that these efforts would contribute to enhancing operational efficiency, improving service quality, enriching customer experience, and supporting faster execution and more informed decision-making.

The meeting also addressed ICP’s priorities for the coming phase, ways to accelerate the implementation of high-priority digital initiatives, strengthen integration across sectors, and enhance the readiness of systems and services, thereby supporting business continuity and reinforcing the Authority’s ability to respond effectively and flexibly to future developments.

His Excellency noted that digital transformation represents a fundamental pillar of ICP’s institutional development journey, reaffirming its commitment to adopting innovative solutions and investing in advanced technologies in line with the UAE Government’s vision and future aspirations. These efforts, he added, will further strengthen ICP’s position as a leading model in the delivery of smart and proactive government services.
