H.E. Major General Saeed Salem Belhas Al Shamsi, Acting Director General of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, inaugurated the periodic audit sessions assessing the compliance of organizational units within the Identity and Foreigners Affairs Sector with the institutional governance pillars for 2026. The sessions were conducted by the Institutional Governance Department over two days, from 15 to 16 April 2026, with the aim of evaluating the sector’s readiness for external assessment and strengthening institutional compliance with best governance practices.
The audit sessions reviewed the extent of compliance across the four key governance pillars: policies and procedures, enterprise risk management, business continuity, and compliance and follow-up.
The sessions were attended by representatives from the Institutional Governance Department, as well as representatives from the Central Institutional Support Section and institutional support teams across the executive departments within the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs.
During the opening, His Excellency emphasized the importance of these sessions in enhancing institutional performance, reinforcing a culture of compliance, and ensuring sustainable readiness, contributing to the achievement of strategic objectives and strengthening the Authority’s leadership in institutional governance.
