Emirates ID and British Institute of Technology sign agreement for co-operation in scientific research

The Emirates Identity Authority has signed a mutual co-operation agreement with the British Institute of Technology & eCommerce in the field of scientific researches concerned with developing techniques to prevent the theft or seizure of ID information and devise a mechanism for employing the ID card in the eGovernment, eCommerce and economy applications.

The agreement was signed by H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, and Muhammad Farmer, Director of the British Institute of Technology and eCommerce,  on the sidelines of the ID WORLD Abu Dhabi 2012 Summit, which is being held at the Emirates Center of Strategic Studies and Research in Abu Dhabi.

The agreement comes as part of the Emirates Identity Authority’s endeavor to strengthen the eGovernment’s infrastructure and activate electronic linkage with all government service organizations in the UAE based on its vision, mission and strategic plan 2010-2013 and in line with the federal eGovernment’s plan till 2014, which is aimed at raising the level of eTransformation in service sectors, setting up an advanced electronic infrastructure and providing a convenient legislative, legal and organizational structure for the provision of advanced online services.

The two sides underscored the necessity of improving and optimizing the factors related to the used technologies and systems and cadres, thereby helping promote direct contact among the departments concerned to improve and develop the technological solutions and information systems and upgrade the employee evaluation systems and the other systems used for developing and improving their performance in line with the Emirates Identity Authority’s ongoing endeavor to upgrade customer service.

The British Institute of Technology & eCommerce is one of the world’s most outstanding institutes for the provision of educational and academic services and researches concentrating on the contribution of scientific research to several technological fields including the support of local and international security and the vital information technology services.
