Terms and Conditions
- To renew the Emirates ID, the passport must be valid no less than 3 months. If both the Emirates ID and passport are eligible for renewal, the Emirates ID and Passport Renewal service must be used.
- Individuals who have completed 15 years of age are required to complete the fingerprint and signature procedures through the Authority’s service centers
- A recent personal photograph must be provided when submitting the application and must not be identical to the current photograph printed on the Emirates ID card.
- Complete the necessary procedures to fulfill the application requirements (in case the application is returned for modification).
- The application will be canceled if the procedures are not completed or if the required modifications to the returned applications for amendment are not made within the specified period
- The application may be submitted by the head of the family, a legally authorized representative, a guardian, or the applicant themselves if they have reached the legal age
- If the customer wishes to apply for the urgent service, they are required to visit the Authority’s service center directly to initiate the procedures through the service officer
- A recent personal photograph must be provided when submitting the application and must not be identical to the current photograph printed on the Emirates ID card.
- To register first-degree relatives, one of the above-mentioned documents must be provided under the name of the children or one of the parents to prove shared residency.
- Individuals who have completed 15 years of age are required to complete the fingerprint and signature procedures through the Authority’s service centers
- Complete the necessary procedures to fulfill the application requirements (in case the application is returned for modification).
- The application will be canceled if the procedures are not completed or if the required modifications to the returned applications for amendment are not made within the specified period
- If the customer wishes to apply for the urgent service, they are required to visit the Authority’s service center directly to initiate the procedures through the service officer

- The application for renewing the Identity Card is submitted in conjunction with the residence application through the unified residence and identity form, in all emirates of the country except the Emirate of Dubai
- Completing the service requires obtaining the necessary approvals and passing the medical examination with a 'fit' result
- Complete the necessary procedures to fulfill the application requirements (in case the application is returned for modification).

- For students: Certificate from a competent authority confirming admission or ongoing study in a school, university, or People of Determination center in the UAE.;o>
- Employees: Proof of employment via contract or certificate from a competent authority (ministry, government/semi-gov, free zone, Sheikh’s office, sports club, or pension letter).;o>
- Investors: Valid trade/industrial/agricultural license from authority or property purchase contract from an approved developer;o>
- Property owners: Proof of property ownership, government housing certificate, or final inheritance ruling for property heirs.;o>
- Delegates/Scholars: Certificate from a government/semi-gov entity or UAE bank confirming assignment or training program.;o>
- Inmates of correctional and penal institutions: Certificate from a court or correctional authority confirming a judicial sentence.;o>
- Relatives of GCC student: Valid Emirates ID of student, study admission/continuity certificate, and attested proof of kinship (birth, marriage, or kinship docs).;o>
- Relatives of GCC employee: valid Emirates ID of the GCC worker, proof of employment (contract or work certificate), and attested proof of kinship (birth, marriage, or kinship).;o>
- Relatives of GCC investor: Valid ID of investor, license or property contract, and attested kinship proof (birth, marriage, or kinship).;o>
- Relatives of GCC property owner: Valid ID, property deed/housing certificate/inheritance ruling, and attested kinship proof (birth, marriage, kinship).;o>
- Relatives of deceased citizen: ID/passport or death certificate of deceased, and attested first-degree kinship proof (father, mother, spouse, children).;o>
- Relatives of citizen: Valid ID of citizen, proof of kinship up to 3rd degree (birth, marriage, kinship). 3rd degree requires court support certificate, with attested external docs.;o>
- Relatives of resident foreigner: Valid passport and Emirates ID of resident, plus attested first-degree kinship proof (father, mother, spouse, children).;o>
- GCC guardian/custodian/ward: Valid Emirates ID, court proof of status, and attested custody document for the ward if issued outside the UAE.;o>

Service fines
- Expiration of the permitted period for renewing the identity card in cases where renewal is allowed, with a fine imposed for each day of delay, not exceeding 1,000 dirhams. - 20 AED
