Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Sharjah Wins Best Volunteer Team Award at the 23rd Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work

As part of the 23rd Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, the award honoured winners in the Volunteer Teams category in recognition of their contributions to promoting a culture of volunteering, strengthening community participation, and showcasing institutional initiatives that have made a meaningful impact in serving the community and supporting sustainable development.

The team from the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Sharjah received the Best Volunteer Team Award for its “UAE Innovates 2025 Activities” initiative, in recognition of its efforts to foster a culture of innovation and encourage volunteer participation in service development. The initiative demonstrated the integration of institutional excellence with social responsibility while inspiring employees and volunteers to embrace creative ideas and contribute to enhancing the work environment and the services provided to customers.

On this occasion, H.E. Major General Arif Mohammed Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Sharjah at the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), said that the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work reflects the humanitarian and cultural values upon which the UAE was founded, embodying the principles of giving, belonging, and the nation’s authentic heritage of volunteerism and dedication to serving people and the nation. He added that these values were established by the Founding Fathers at the birth of the Union and continue to serve as a strategic pillar of the UAE’s development.

H.E. Major General Al Shamsi expressed his pride in the achievement of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Sharjah, which won the Best Volunteer Team Award for its “UAE Innovates 2025 Activities” initiative during the 23rd edition of the award. He noted that this recognition reflects ICP’s commitment to embedding the values and culture of volunteerism within the workplace and among employees and customers through enabling policies and frameworks that empower employees to fulfil their national role in serving the community and enhancing quality of life.

He further emphasised that ICP takes pride in its contribution to community service and in fulfilling its social responsibility by enabling employees to participate in a wide range of volunteer initiatives, driven by its firm belief that volunteerism is a way of life and a fundamental pillar of community wellbeing and social cohesion.
