HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed receives Websites Shield

His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority received from Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, the website shield for the category of government entities, which the Emirates Identity Authority’s had won its top award in the 7th edition of the website shield contest organized by the Arab Academy for Internet Awards.

Al Khouri clarified that the Emirates Identity Authority’s website is a channel of communication with all sections of the society, stressing the Emirates Identity Authority’s keenness on paying due attention to this channel, which provides information on the development of the Emirates Identity Authority’s projects and the latest updates as regards the population register and ID card.

He emphasized that HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s limitless support for the Emirates Identity Authority’s process of development and his diligent follow-up of all strategic projects and initiatives, which are being implemented by the Emirates Identity Authority, constitute the biggest incentive for the Emirates Identity Authority’s family to keep up the good work for achieving the objectives set forth in the Emirates Identity Authority’s new strategy 2010-2013, fulfilling the Emirates Identity Authority’s vision and mission and enhancing its role.

Al Khouri clarified that the media and communication strategy which the Emirates Identity Authority started to implement nearly a year ago attached special importance to the its website as a channel of communication with the Emirates Identity Authority’s internal and external customers and a live source for all UAE mass media to obtain fresh news about the Emirates Identity Authority’s activities and projects.

Al Khouri stressed the Emirates Identity Authority’s keenness on providing and consolidating channels of communication with all sections of the society, particularly media men, in order to support transparency and provide valuable information for them through an up-to-date, interactive, media, advertisement and news website capable of keeping pace with the Emirates Identity Authority’s process of development and conveying its experiences and expertise.

He clarified that the Higher Management at the Emirates Identity Authority had provided and was still providing all kinds of support to its website as part of its keenness on meeting the requirements of the global evaluation teams. Such support is aimed at reflecting the actual eTransformation in the UAE, which is being achieved as per the world’s highest standards, and conforming to the latest criteria used in the United Nations when measuring electronic maturity and conversion into eGovernment, he added.

The win by the Emirates Identity Authority’s website of the top award in the Arab Website Shield Contest out of 600 Arab government websites and the selection of the website as the best government website among approximately 50 websites of federal government entities in the UAE would double the responsibility shouldered by the Higher Management at the Emirates Identity Authority and motivate it to provide more support and care for its website.
