The Emirates Identity Authority will start activating the service of linking ID card registration procedures with residence in its new center annexed to the medical fitness center, Knowledge Village, Dubai, from Sunday, July 31.

The Knowledge Village-based Emirates Identity Authority’s new registration center serves only the customers at TECOM Business Parks who are interested in getting a residence visa issued or renewed. These customers are currently estimated at around 65,000.

The ID card registration center at TECOM Business Parks is the first center in Dubai through which the linkage of population register and ID card registration procedures with the medical examination is activated, knowing that the medical examination is a condition for the issuance or renewal of residence visa.

The list of TECOM Business Parks includes Dubai Internet City, Dubai Outsource Zone, Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City, International Media Production Zone, Dubai Knowledge Village, Dubai International Academic City, Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech), Dubai Healthcare City and Energy and Environment Park (ENPARK).

The new registration center, which is expected to receive around 180 people per day or around 3,600 people per month, is the 15th opened center across the UAE since the preventive medicine project was initiated in November 2010 out of 25 centers expected to be opened before the year-end.

The activation of the linkage service between the “ID” and “residence” at TECOM Business Parks was announced during a meeting held recently in the presence of representatives from the Emirates Identity Authority, TECOM, Dubai Health Authority and General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai, to agree on all the procedures scheduled to be applied and determine the roles of the entities participating in the linkage.

It was agreed to launch the linkage at the Emirates Identity Authority’s center in the Knowledge Village early next week in co-ordination with the management of TECOM Business Parks and Dubai Health Authority, Abdul Aziz Al Maamari, Director of Public Relations and Marketing, said, praising the prominent role of both entities in supporting the Emirates Identity Authority and enabling it to activate its expansion plan of the preventive medicine project, which comes in implementation of the second theme of the new registration plan emanating from the Emirates Identity Authority’s new registration strategy 2010-2013.

Meanwhile, Ismael Al Naqi, Managing Director, TECOM Business Parks Operations, expressed TECOM’s readiness to extend its co-operation and support to make a success of the Emirates Identity Authority’s project for linking ID card registration procedures with the medical examination procedures and the residence issuance and renewal at the TECOM Business Parks.

The Emirates Identity Authority’s representatives headed by Ismael Fadhlullah, Director of Dubai and Northern Emirates, accompanied the participants in the meeting in a tour of the new ID center in Knowledge Village, where all praised the center’s devices, registration lines and the new procedures that the Emirates Identity Authority adopted to improve and develop the service provided to its customers and tighten the registration procedures.

The meeting was attended by Ismael Fadhlullah, Director of Dubai and Northern Emirates Centers, from the Emirates Identity Authority, Mohamed Al Nashar, preventive medicine project manager, and Yaqoub Al Hammadi, project supervisor for Dubai centers.

It is noteworthy that under the linkage of ID card registration procedures with residence issuance and renewal procedures, a customer should fill out the registration form at an authorized typing office across the UAE before visiting the preventive medicine center for medical examination. Subsequently, the customer should complete the ID card registration procedures, as he/she obtains a registration receipt sealed by the Emirates Identity Authority, which is regarded as one of the conditions for receiving the issued medical examination certificate.
