For the second year, the Emirates Identity Authority has continued to provide support to the “fast-breaking project”, which is organized by the Red Crescent Society with the aim of streamlining its role in serving the society and bolstering its practice of the concept of social responsibility in line with the teachings of Islam that have rendered Ramadan a month of compassion, solidarity and contribution as per the Prophet Muhammad.
The Emirates Identity Authority’s support is embodied in sponsoring 4 Ramadan tents in Madinat Zayed, Khalifa City, Al Muroor Road and Musaffah in Abu Dhabi in co-operation with the Red Crescent Society.
The 4 tents to be sponsored by the Emirates Identity Authority throughout the holy month of Ramadan accommodate more than 1,000 fasters daily. Over 40,000 meals are served in these tents.
Supporting the fast-breaking project comes as part of the Emirates Identity Authority’s keenness on supporting the humanitarian programs and charitable projects and its endeavor to consolidate social solidarity values and pay more attention to supporting and responding to the needs of the different sections of people, said Abdul Aziz Al Maamari, Director of Public Relations and Marketing.
He noted that the Emirates Identity Authority’s strategy 2010-2013 pays special attention to the theme of social service and calls for consolidating and streamlining it by implementing a number of initiatives that reflect the Emirates Identity Authority’s connection to and interaction with the society.
Al Maamari pointed out that as far as this them is concerned, the Emirates Identity Authority followed the footsteps of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah have mercy upon him, and President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Sultan, may Allah protect him, who implanted the noblest values and meanings for supporting the vulnerable, rescuing the disaster-stricken and aiding the needy people in the hearts of the UAE citizens.
