Emirates Identity Authority participates in a workshop on IT strategy

The Emirates Identity Authority has participated in an introductory workshop to discuss an initiative for devising the strategy of information and communication technology (ICT) and the strategy of online services at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, which is in harmony with the police’s strategic development requirements.

Then workshop dealt with a number of issues including dependence on the ID card number issued by the Emirates Identity Authority as the main reference number in online transactions related to services. It also discussed the possibility of benefiting from the services provided by the Emirates Identity Authority with respect to management of ID card in all its stages starting with issuance, verification and identification of beneficiaries of online services and ending with cancellation and deactivation of the ID card.

During the workshop, the Emirates Identity Authority presented its viewpoints as regards the possibility for Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to benefit from the ID card in future in such fields as the electronic systems operating in Abu Dhabi Police in line with the strategic proposal of technological development in the police. The Emirates Identity Authority also talked about how the use of ID card could contribute to data security and protection by depending on the mechanisms of effective verification of system users.

It is noteworthy that this initiative is aimed at developing online services to be in parallel with the Abu Dhabi Government’s development technological projects so that they are compatible with Abu Dhabi Government’s performance indices through measuring the percentage index of online service automation.
