H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, said the Emirates Identity Authority’s initiative as well as its launch of a donation campaign for Somalia come in response to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may Allah protect him, and in implementation of the instructions of our prudent leadership to launch an urgent plan to save the victims of drought in the Horn of Africa.
The UAE is among the early countries to launch honorable humanitarian initiatives, which always seek to provide all kinds of assistance and all forms of support to those affected by disasters and crises worldwide, particularly children, he added.
On the sidelines of the Emirates Identity Authority’s submission to the Red Crescent Society of a check with its employees’ donations in favor of Somali children, Al Khouri thanked and appreciated the employees who participated in this humanitarian campaign and contributed to offering assistance to the victims of drought in Somalia who are facing death as a result of the famine that overran the Horn of Africa and claimed the lives of a large number of its inhabitants.
The keenness of the Emirates Identity Authority’s employees from the different departments, centers and sections on participating in this humanitarian campaign reflects their truthful desire to give relief aid to the victims of drought in Somalia and embodies their convictions that it is necessary to apply the concept of “social responsibility”, Al Khouri said.
Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Maamari, Director of Public Relations and Marketing, Emirates Identity Authority, has delivered the check with the donations of the Emirates Identity Authority’s family to Mr. Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Director of Red Crescent Society – Abu Dhabi Branch.
