The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs& Port Security has accomplished all stages of the project; “Smart Inland Crossing for travelers”, which is based on using smart systems within all steps of transit via ports which shall make the experience of travelling from and to the inland ports easy, secure, quick and innovative in such a way which would achieve the governmental approaches for enhancing the happiness of customers.
The project of “Smart Inland Crossing for travelers” include changing the mechanism of accomplishing the normal traveling procedures from the manual to the smart method through creating or setting smart portal that includes the registration of travelers, vehicles, reading passports, vehicle’s boards in a smart way plus corelating this portal with the unified systems which cover all stages of passports, customs and port security review according to developed, secure characteristics that apply the best techniques of Artificial Intelligence through only one procedure, as the time spent in getting travelers and vehicles in and out shall be minimized. Also, this project shall reduce depending on the human staff and increasing happiness of passengers.
The project of “The Smart Inland Crossing” is considered one of the transformative projects within the agreements of execution concluded by Federal governmental bodies for 2022, which were signed under the attendance of His Excellency, Majesty, Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Deputy of the state, The Prime Minister, Governor of Dubai- May Allah protects him.
Execution Agreements represent qualitative projects that shall transfer the state towards the future and enhance its competitiveness. Moreover, the transformative projects are distinguished with achieving
a great impact in all sectors through short periods and in such a method that ensures the application of the new methodology of the governmental work in the state of Emirates.
In that respect His Excellency Major General, Suhail Saeed Alkhaili, The Major General of the Authority said that the project of ” The Smart Inland Crossing for Travelers” aims at providing an easy, quick and secure experience of travelling for those coming in and out of UAE via the inland ports, through achieving the accomplishment of transactions by100% of the fixed time, the full compliance with the approved security standards and specifications in the targeted inland ports, increasing the move of goods and cargos between the state and its neighboring countries by the rate of 20% as well as reducing the spent time that was taken in registering the vehicles of passengers during their transit through the smart inland ports to be only 15 seconds.
The transformative project of “The Smart Inland Crossing for passengers” supports the endeavors of the UAE government to accelerate achieving all targets of the sub divisions relating to making the UAE the most secure country all over the world within the Vision of “We The UAE, 2031” which requires quality and redoubled efforts that shall contribute in achieving the governmental aspirations and shall reflect positively on the society and the various sectors of the state.
This project shall form the main support for UAE to be the most secure country in the world through fulfilling the requirements of the most superior and successful system that in its turn shall fulfil the aspirations and ambitions of travelers and contribute in improving their transit experience, upgrade the level of their acceptance and improve the quality of live and happiness of society.
His Excellency, Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili said that the Authority has accomplished all executive stages in the project represented in investigating the technological infrastructure for the system of the ports, linking between the systems and techniques in the targeted inland crossings with the unified system in the Authority in addition to the application of the artificial intelligence on the outstanding operations relating to passports, customs and ports security in addition to developing the system of check, monitoring screen and testing processes on the developmental environment of the crossing or the targeted port.
