His Excellency Ali Muhammad Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, stressed that the unification of the UAE Armed Forces was a key milestone in the journey of the union and reflects many attributes of determination that were unique to the visionary leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, May He rest in peace, and which started with the unity of the federal entities in 1971 and extended to the unity of security and defense on the 6th of May 1976 by announcing the decision to unify the UAE Armed Forces.
His Excellency Al-Shamsi said in a speech on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces: “The unification decision took place thanks to the insightful leadership of the time, and it led to the high level of readiness and preparedness that the armed forces have reached now, and the experiences it have accumulated, and its contributions regionally and internationally in enhancing security and stability.”
His Excellency added that the UAE Armed Forces, is a shield of goodness and has carried the sustainable and solid human dimension throughout its journey since the unification decision, and has become an icon of giving, sacrifice, generosity, capability, skills, training, armament and strong work system. He mentioned that the visionary leadership of the UAE and its unlimited support has put the UAE military institution in an advanced position on the map of military sciences, making it a role model for hard work, loyalty, and belonging, and the main shield for prosperity, stability, security, and safety.
His Excellency the Chairman of the Authority extended his warmest congratulations and wishes to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, “may God protect him,” and his two deputies, and to their brothers, their Highnesses the Sheikhs, members of the Supreme Council of the Union and Rulers of the Emirates, invoking the Almighty God to protect them, guide them, and support them, and to perpetuate goodness, security, progress and prosperity for the United Arab Emirates, and its citizens and residents, and bless them with peace, progress and prosperity.”
