HH Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE National Security Advisor and Chairman of Emirates Identity Authority, has said the Martyr’s Day is an occasion to commemorate the heroes that laid down their lives for the nation. “This is a historic day on which the people of the UAE reaffirm their commitment to the values of justice, love and peace, which were the foundations on which the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan founded the country,” he added.
His Highness explained that the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the protection of the country demonstrated the values of national Arab solidarity and unity. “We have seen the same from all our martyrs from the beginning of the country’s history to the current military intervention in Yemen by the Saudi-led Arab coalition forces. Apart from the commemoration of the martyrs, this is also an occasion to remember the national issues for which they laid down their lives,” he stressed.
HH concluded his words on the Martyrs Day with the following statement: “The people of the UAE are today renewing their pledge to the leadership of the country to continue the march of the country with full preparedness to sacrifice everything for the nation and for keeping its flag aloft among the countries of the world. They show that they stand united always for the protection of the national missions.”
