H.H Major General Saeed Rakan Al Rashidi, Acting Director-General for Foreigners Affairs and Ports at ICA, emphasized that Emirati Women are now assuming advanced leading positions across all the national work fields. They are partners to their male peers in making developments and achievements and key active players in the comprehensive sustainable development experienced in the State nowadays, armed with science, knowledge, sheer willpower, and firm resolve.
He further said that the Emirati woman’s achievements made her an icon in boundless giving, sincerity, and enlightened leadership, at both the regional and international levels. She is determined to perform the roles entrusted to her loyally with a sense of belonging and a desire to make UAE a leading country. She always proves to be qualified and competent in any position she assumes, whether leading, executive, or professional.
In a statement he made on the International Women Day, Al Rashidi stated that the current prestigious status of the Emirati woman is a result of the determination of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to enable woman, as a woman plays many roles including being a mother of the coming generations, a politician, an employee, and a businesswoman. This approach was adopted by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, who promoted woman’s participation in building and developing the State.
Al Rashidi paid tribute to Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation, President of The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Sponsor of Emirati Woman’s Path, for her efforts and contributions in supporting Emirati daughters to reach the position they deserve and challenge the discrimination faced in all life aspects.
