The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security announced that the Ghuwaifat border crossing received approximately 11,000 pilgrims, who were heading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj for the year 1443 AH. They were provided with distinguished and facilitated services to make their transit movement more comfortable and smooth, through the launch of the “Pilgrims Oasis” initiative, which reflects the Authority’s keenness to consolidate the values and culture of social responsibility and enhance communication with customers on various national and religious occasions, and to provide them with easy and quick services. The initiative also aims to achieve the fifty principles aimed at improving the quality of life and establishing a cohesive society.
The General Administration of Ports Security confirmed that the implementation of the “Pilgrims Oasis” initiative contributed to facilitating procedures and providing distinguished services, by providing tents equipped with full amenities, including a tent for men and another for women, to complete the transit procedures related to passports while they were there. The administration cooperated with the UAE Red Crescent, in implementing the “The Best Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah” initiative at the Ghuwaifat border crossing, in which gifts were distributed to pilgrims, which contributed to spreading joy among them, praising its efforts in spreading the message of tolerance and charity inside and outside the country.
Muhammad Al-Muqbali, Director of the Ghuwaifat Port Office, said that the Authority is keen to provide all distinguished services by preparing the port logistically, implementing operational plans and preparing them in advance in cooperation with the strategic partners working at the port to provide joint integrated services according to the highest standards to enhance the flexibility of transit of pilgrims, indicating that campaigns are pilgrimage separated from the rest of the transients and that time to complete the procedures is shortened in order to facilitate their journey by land to the Holy Land.
