The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, represented by the Identity and Foreigners Affairs Sector, organised a series of community initiatives to mark International Father’s Day as part of the Authority’s Community Initiatives Agenda. The initiatives aim to support the objectives of the Year of the Family and highlight the vital role of fathers in building strong families, strengthening society, and safeguarding the nation.
In this context, the Community Initiatives Team at the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Sharjah organised an event on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, in celebration of International Father’s Day. The event honoured the continuous contributions of fathers during the Year of the Family and reflected the values of family cohesion and workplace solidarity.
The event featured a special recognition ceremony for H.E. Major General Dr. Arif Mohammed Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Sharjah. His Excellency received a commemorative shield bearing the image of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, may God protect him, in appreciation of his leadership and his support for community initiatives that foster a positive and motivating work environment, as well as his recognition of the important role played by employee fathers in advancing both institutional excellence and family stability.
The event also witnessed the launch of a national initiative involving the distribution of valuable commemorative gifts featuring the image of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi to all employee fathers across the various departments. The initiative also served as an expression of gratitude to fathers within the workforce for their dedication in balancing their national responsibilities with their family obligations.
This event aligns with the Directorate’s strategy to reinforce the values of positive citizenship and to recogniee the pivotal role of fathers in building a cohesive society and nurturing ambitious generations capable of continuing the nation’s journey of development and prosperity.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Umm Al Quwain, in coordination with Umm Al Quwain University, celebrated International Father’s Day on Monday, 22 June 2026. As part of the celebration, a workshop entitled “Protecting the Family: Security for Society” was conducted to help strengthen the role of the family in raising future generations on the basis of sound values and firmly rooted moral principles, in line with the UAE’s vision of supporting and empowering the family as the cornerstone of a stable and prosperous society.
