The Ministry of Finance announced that it had approved the use of ID card only to obtain the e-Dirham cards used in paying the governmental service fees. This step comes in the context of the Ministry’s pursuit of transparency in transactions according to the world’s best practices.
Younis Haji Al Khouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, told Al Emarat Al Youm in its today issue that the Ministry has completed the update of all data of federal governmental employees using the Emirati ID card as the ID number is a prerequisite for payment of salaries and pensions. The Ministry gave enough time to employees to update their data and provide the authorities where they work with a copy of effective ID card, he said.
