The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) won two awards during the second edition of the Zero Bureaucracy Award ceremony held in Abu Dhabi on Monday, 18 May 2026, in recognition of ICP’s success in developing innovative government solutions that enhanced the efficiency of government services and strengthened the readiness of digital government operations. The achievement contributes to accelerating procedures and improving the experience of customers and the business sector.
The recognition took place during a ceremony attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, alongside H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence; and Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in addition to several ministers and senior government officials.
H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured ICP for the “Smart Customs Ecosystem” initiative with the “Impact on the Business Sector” award, while Lieutenant General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured ICP for the One-Time Data Request project with the Government to Government Services award. H.E. Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, received the two awards on behalf of the Authority.
H.E. Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi affirmed that this achievement reflects the vision of UAE’s wise leadership and the Government’s directions toward embedding a culture of government innovation and zero bureaucracy, while strengthening the UAE’s competitiveness and global leadership in government service development and the adoption of smart and proactive solutions.
His Excellency added that ICP remains committed to developing its services ecosystem and pioneering initiatives in line with international best practices, contributing to enhancing government efficiency, simplifying procedures, and improving quality of life. He stressed that institutional excellence and innovation remain firmly embedded in ICP’s operations and future plans.
His Excellency further noted that this achievement is the result of the efforts of work teams, institutional partnerships, and integration across sectors, praising the contributions of employees and national talents who helped develop innovative projects and initiatives that enhanced government service efficiency and generated a positive impact on customers, the business sector, and government partners.
The Zero Bureaucracy Award, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in December 2024, is one of the government initiatives dedicated to recognising the most distinguished government entities and teams in simplifying procedures and developing government services. The second edition of the award featured the participation of 32 federal ministries and government entities across seven main categories.
