ICP Discusses Implementation of New AI Ecosystem

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) held a meeting for directors general and executive directors on Monday, 11 May 2026, at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, chaired by H.E. Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of ICP. The meeting focused on discussing ICP’s strategic direction and the operational roadmap for implementing the objectives of the new government artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in April 2026. The initiative aims to drive a transformative shift in government operations through the adoption of AI technologies, in line with the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, with the objective of enhancing government efficiency and improving quality of life.

The meeting reviewed ICP’s strategic directions and key pillars to transform 50% of its sectors, services, and operations into autonomous and AI-led models within two years.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Major General Suhail Juma Mohammed Kaltham Al Khaili, Acting Director General of Nationality, H.E. Major General Saeed Salem Belhas Al Shamsi, Acting Director General of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, Mohammed Ahmed Al Kuwaiti, Acting Director General of Ports, Ahmed Abdullah bin Lahej Al Falasi, Acting Director General of Customs and Ports Security, Brigadier Ahmed Mayouf Al Ameri, Acting Director General of Support Services, Juma Abdullah Al Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of the Digital Transformation Sector, Nasser Ahmed Al Abdouli, Acting Executive Director of the Institutional Support Sector, in addition to a number of officers and officials.
