Hamdan Bin Zayed lauds Emirates ID Strategic Plan 2010-2013

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, has praised the mission and vision of Emirates ID and its strategic plan 2010-2013 as well as its projects and initiatives which started to harvest its results.

Sheikh Hamdan, who was received at Qasr Al Sarab Hotel, Abu Dhabi yesterday by a group from Emirates ID headed by its Director General H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, called upon Emirates ID staff to move forward in their constructive journey to enroll the entire population of the UAE in the population register and the ID card to support policy makers and develop the infrastructure allowing the enhancement of government services and e-government projects.

While viewing Emirates ID strategic plan through its Director General, Sheikh Hamdan stressed the UAE leadership’s keenness on developing the Western Region of Abu Dhabi and provide a life of dignity to its people pursuant to directives from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and earnest follow-up from His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on people’s conditions and levels of services provided throughout the state including the regions of Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Hamdan said, “The responsibility upon us is much greater than we can imagine. We ask God to help us bear this responsibility and this message.” He indicated that meetings between officials are important but co-operation between them is more important to ensure the achievement of welfare for the state, which is our priority mission.

He called for co-ordination of efforts to bring into reality the ambitions of our leaders who do not spare effort in making the UAE among the world’s most developed and prosperous countries.

Sheikh Hamdan added that the construction development witnessed by the Western Region of Abu Dhabi as part of the overall development witnessed by the UAE requires everyone to work as one team to reach goals while always giving priority to facilitating services for the people and ensuring their satisfaction.

Al Khouri expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to the UAE leaders for their infinite support to the authority. He considered that the positive results and indicators achieved by Emirates ID in 2011 would not have occurred without such support.

Al Khouri stressed that achievement will continue to happen under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser and Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority, and in light of eager follow-up from Lieutenant Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority.

Al Khouri lauded the ongoing support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in enabling Emirates ID to achieve its strategy and develop its services to the public. This support constitutes a strong motive for Emirates ID to double its efforts and continue its hard and sincere work to realize its mission and vision.

While illustrating Emirates ID strategic plan, Al Khouri stressed the Emirates ID’s keenness on ensuring the satisfaction of clients and its efforts to achieve the goal behind its establishment, represented in effective contribution in supporting overall development projects across the state through a comprehensive, accurate and highly secure population register allowing the state to develop and facilitate government services. Additionally, it seeks to provide the necessary data about population demographics to enhance policy making and strategic planning in resource allocation and other vital fields and sectors.

Al Khouri’s presentation covered an overview of the major projects and initiatives carried out by Emirates ID, foremost among which are the e-linking project with government institutions and digital ID card project (eAuthentication project). The presentation also included an overview of the Emirates ID current centers in the Western Region attached to “Tam” center.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Sultan Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Deputy Under-secretary for the Court of the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, H.E. Mohamed Hamad Bin Azzan Al Mazroui, Director General of the Western Region Development Council, H.E. Mesbah Mubarak Al Marar, Director General of the Western Region Municipality, and H.E. Saeed Bin Rosas Al Mansouri, Executive Manager of Citizen Affairs for the Court of the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region.

The meeting was also attended by Emirates ID representatives H.E. Eng. Nasser Al Mazroui, ICT Executive Director, H.E. Mohammed Al-Harthy, Acting Executive Director of Registration Centers, Mr. Mohammed Ayed Al Ahbabi, Director of Western Region Centers, and several other senior officials.
