The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), represented by the Foreigners Affairs – Al Ain Department, organised a workshop entitled Smoke-Free and Aware Youth on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, in cooperation with TrueLife Specialty Hospital. The initiative was held in observance of World No Tobacco Day and aimed to raise employees’ awareness of the risks associated with smoking and support efforts to reduce tobacco consumption.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), represented by the Foreigners Affairs – Al Ain Department, organised a workshop entitled Smoke-Free and Aware Youth on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, in cooperation with TrueLife Specialty Hospital. The initiative was held in observance of World No Tobacco Day and aimed to raise employees’ awareness of the risks associated with smoking and support efforts to reduce tobacco consumption.
The workshop, delivered by Dr. Naeem Hammoud of TrueLife Specialty Hospital, was attended by a number of senior officers and employees of the Department. It focused on raising awareness of the health and social risks associated with smoking, as well as educating participants on ways to protect young people and adolescents from misleading tobacco industry marketing campaigns.
During the workshop, Dr. Hammoud addressed a range of topics, including the definition and forms of smoking, its impact on oral health and gum health, the benefits of quitting smoking for oral hygiene, the major diseases associated with continued tobacco use, and preventive guidance to support smoking cessation.
