Emirates Identity and Citizenship Academy of ICA organized an initiative to distribute Ramadan Iftar meals to vehicle drivers before sunset. This initiative was organised in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate, aiming at instilling the values of fraternity and compassion during the Holy month of Ramadan.
This initiative marks ICA’s commitment to its social responsibilities and keen on promoting the values of human and social giving, fraternity and humanitarian and social compassion.
The initiative included distributing iftar meals to drivers in traffic intersections in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, workers and passers-by in the public street who couldn’t make it to their homes at the time of iftar, promoting humanitarian values and highlighting the meanings of solidarity and fellow understanding which are characterizing UAE nationals and residents.
Before launching the initiative, the participating team from Abu Dhabi Police provided a number of awareness raising advice to the participants who distribute the iftar meals to keep their safety and avoid any accidents. Besides, they raised the drivers’ awareness regarding traffic lights and the importance of adhering to the signals, especially during the sunset in the Holy month of Ramadan as well as adhering to road and traffic safety rules, contributing to limiting the occurrence of accidents.
