UAE government announced that the Emirates ID card becomes now, instead of any other identification documents, the main enabler of 90% of the smart services provided by seven government entities.
The list of entities that achieved this percentage in their smart services includes Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Smart Dubai Government, Emirates Post Group, Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme and Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.
UAE Smart Government said in a press release today that the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has achieved the target of “enabling customers to access smart government services” within 100 days, in cooperation with the mentioned entities.
the press release mentioned that the second batch of government accelerators teams achieved results exceeded the targets in most of the eight challenges, which focused on providing vital common services packages that are directly related to people’s lives, to achieve the highest levels of efficiency in government work without the need for additional costs and resources.
