In cooperation with Permanent Committee of Labor Affairs in Jabel Ali, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai launched the community initiative “Joy of Eid” targeting labor, through presenting gifts, namely Eid clothes, in order to bring happiness and pleasure to them, share the joy of Eid with them and let them feel the family and brotherhood atmosphere in Dubai Emirate.
This initiative is a continuation of the series of community initiatives, through which Dubai Emirate seeks to emphasis the significance of social responsibility and promote its culture, through scaling up the level of community action, enshrining the concept of tolerance and human fraternity that have become an essential part of the Emirati identity and a basic pillar of sustainable development.
Major general Obail Mheir bin Sorour, the deputy director of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, the chairman of the Permanent Committee of Labor Committee in Dubai, emphasized that the initiative aims to delight the labor and promoting the value of philanthropic work in harmony with the historical Emirati values, which are practical embodiment of human values. He pointed out that Committee and
the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai seek to honor this important category in our community, which assumes heavy responsibilities through performing their duties and tasks honestly in a commendable and praiseworthy manner.
He added that the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai is one of the prominent bodies that are in direct touch with the different segments of the community by virtue of its work nature. Therefore, it must exercise its tasks and assume its social responsibilities, which emphasize the human values, promote the concepts of compassion and solidarity and build bridges of communication with the different categories of community, particularly labor category who exert considerable efforts to perform their duties and fulfill their responsibilities through work.
It is noteworthy that the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai is keen on embodying its humanitarian mission through launching several community initiatives, targeting different category of the culturally-diverse Emirati community, through exploiting the national, religious and global occasions to build bridges of fraternity and convey its mission and vision that are based on honoring and appreciating the efforts exerted by the entire members of the Emirati community.
