ICP Marks the International Law Day

Today’s morning, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (“ICP”), represented by the Legal Affairs Section of the General Department of Support Services, celebrated the International Law Day, which falls on 13 September every year, in the Martyrs Hall at the Authority’s headquarters in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi.

In the opening speech of the celebration and in the presence of H. E. Major General Khalifa Matar Belgouba Al Hemiari, the Director General of support services, and a number of the executive directors and officials of the Authority,  H. E. Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, the Director General of the Authority, emphasized that Law is the key pillar for the quality of life and the robust foundation for protecting the communities, realizing justice and ensuring efficient performance of the government entities. He added that Law is one of the key critical drivers for developing the service system, maintaining the customers’ rights and achieving their expectations.

Major General Al Khaili also said “On this occasion, we take pride in the commitment of the United Arab Emirates and our wise leadership to the principle of the rule of Law, where the UAE has become a preferred destination and a model for the rule of Law, preservation of the individuals’ rights and improving the quality of life. On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to Law and preservation of the rights of the individuals and the community. We pray to Allah the Almighty to safeguard our wise leadership and maintain our country’s security, prosperity and welfare”.
