The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security organized, today, Thursday morning (March 02, 2023) at its main headquarters on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street in Abu Dhabi and the Authority’s headquarters at the state level, many sporting events and activities to celebrate the National Sports Day under the slogan “The Emirates Unite Us”.
The activities involved employees practicing many sports, most notably walking, football, archery, table tennis, crossfit, volleyball, hiking, paddle boarding, yoga, cycling, in addition to healthy nutrition lectures and others. The events, which were held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, were attended by managers, officials and employees from the Authority, men and women, and their families.
On this occasion, His Excellency Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Authority, said that the National Sports Day is an important occasion to confirm commitment to the sports orientations adopted by the UAE, to consolidate sports values and principles among employees in the work environment, to spread team spirit and positive competition, and to achieve effective communication between employees on both the individual and family levels.
His Excellency explained that the Authority takes advantage of this occasion to affirm its commitment to sportsmanship in the work environment and to play its role in promoting social responsibility and celebrating national occasions as it is a federal institution that plays a major role in the government work system. His Excellency added, “Under the slogan ‘The Emirates Unite Us’, the Authority is participating today in the activities of the UAE National Sports Day with distinguished sports activities and initiatives. The initiatives and activities of the Authority on this great national occasion aim to consolidate the values of patriotism and social responsibility and spread the spirit of cohesion and positive competition among employees.”
His Excellency Major General Director General of the Authority said that the visionary leadership chose “sustainability” as a general slogan for this year, so the Authority was keen to apply the standards and rules of sustainability in all the activities that it carried out during the celebration of the National Sports Day for this year, by practicing many environmentally friendly sports such as walking, yoga, bicycles, football, volleyball, hiking, paddle boarding, and others, in a message that reflects the Authority’s keenness to achieve sustainability in its operations, in addition to supporting the country’s efforts and directions in this field.
His Excellency Major General Suhail Al Khaili pointed out that the Authority has succeeded in spreading sports culture in the work environment and raising awareness of healthy sports among employees through the sports events plan that is implemented by the Sports Activities Department of the General Administration of Support Services throughout the year, the most prominent of which is the championship of His Excellency the Chairman of the Authority for futsal and paddle, hiking, walking, competitions, etc. He added: “Thank God, we have sporting events throughout the year in the Authority that have made the work environment a stimulating environment for innovation and production and practicing sports has become part of the work culture and the employees’ lives.
