The Emirates Identity Authority has launched a campaign at the level of its departments and registration centers and offices across the UAE to raise funds for over 2 million children threatened of death of hunger in the Republic of Somalia owing to the famine that hit the Horn of Africa and caused the death of a large number of inhabitants.

The Emirates Identity Authority decided to launch this campaign for raising funds from the employees of its departments and registration centers and offices across the UAE in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may Allah protect him, to launch an emergency plan to save the victims of drought in the Horn of Africa.

H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, urged all the Emirates Identity Authority’s executive and departmental directors and employees to participate in the UAE emergency plan to save the victims of drought in the Horn of Africa by raising as a large amount of money as possible in favor of Somali children. The amounts will be handed over to the Red Crescent Society in line with the UAE’s great humanitarian stands and the directives of its prudent leadership, which is always in the lead of launching honorable humanitarian initiatives; this leadership, which misses no chance and spares no effort to provide all kinds of assistance and support for the victims of disasters and crises worldwide, particularly children.

Al Khouri stressed the keenness of the Emirates Identity Authority to provide all the assistance possible for this campaign based on its concept of social responsibility and its commitment to the social and human issues. He noted the role played by the Red Crescent Society as an official authority representing the UAE for raising and delivering funds side by side with Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation.
