The Emirates Identity Authority announced that its website browsers rose by 209 per cent to around 157,000 in January 2012 compared with around 51,000 in the corresponding period of 2011.
According to the statistical data issued by the Emirates Identity Authority and published in Al Bayan newspaper, the Emirates Identity Authority’s website received a large response from customers, causing the number of registered visits to see a threefold increase to 303,000 visits by the end of January 2012 compared with 75,000 visits in January 2011.
In 2011, the Emirates Identity Authority introduced a number of online services on its website, the most outstanding of which were the ID card status, online form, registration procedures, and list of registration deadlines.
The ID card status was the most popular service on the website as it registered more than 182,000 visits. The service allowed customers to inquire about the application submitted for registering in ID card, renew an ID card or issue a replacement for a lost/ damaged ID card as part of the Emirates Identity Authority’s strategy aimed at building a services foundation that focuses on fulfilling goals and upgrading customer service.
The online form, a service launched by the Emirates Identity Authority for all the UAE population, also contributed to increasing the number of visitors of its website.
The Emirates Identity Authority affirmed its intention to exert constant efforts to develop the general content of its website so as to become a major source of information on the Emirates ID and an effective means of communication between the Emirates Identity Authority and its customers.
As many as 1 million pages were browsed by the visitors of the Emirates Identity Authority’s website in last January, up by 290 per cent over the 256,000 pages browsed in January 2011.
