Emirates ID and MOL are considering ways of implementing Emirates ID’s Strategy

H.E. Hamid Bin Dimas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour (MOL) received at his office this Thursday morning a delegation from the Emirates Identity Authority (Emirates ID) headed by Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri, Emirates ID’s Acting General Director.

The two parties reviewed the most important new developments concerning Emirates ID’s strategy, particularly those related to the process of registration at the Population Register & Identity Card System and the mechanisms of implementing such strategy by way of executing and achieving the prepared plans of action at their due dates.

H.E. Hamid Bin Dimas, member of the Steering Committee for Emirates ID’s Strategy – recently constituted by virtue of a decision from His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority – stressed the fact that the MOL is keen to implement the ID card system in all transactions and services it provides to its customers, with the aim of advancing the level of performance and ensuring accuracy of information and data.

H.E. Hamid Bin Dimas emphasized that MOL will do its utmost for carrying out all that would participate in enabling Emirates ID to finalize the process of registering all nationals and residents at the Population Register & Identity Card System noting that MOL is currently considering the appropriate mechanism through which registration will be effected for all employees at the 442 companies and establishments which employees exceed one thousand employees.

On the other hand, Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri, Emirates ID’s Acting General Director praised the distinguished partnership between Emirates ID and MOL, emphasizing the importance of the initiatives introduced by MOL with the overall aim of helping Emirates ID making a success of the registration strategy and approving the ID card when MOL provides services to all its customers.

Moreover, Emirates ID’s Acting General Director indicated that the meeting held with MOL discussed a number of important issues including implementing the ID card and submitting it as one of the official documents required by MOL from the nationals wishing to register or renew the registration of any company or establishment with the MOL, and the mechanism of using the e-signature indicated on the ID card.

Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al-Khouri added that Emirates ID will provide electronic readers at various MOL’s departments and offices for enabling them to electronically read the data stated on the ID card in order to ensure accuracy and achieve transactions at the shortest time possible.

The meeting was attended by both H.E. Yusuf Al Baloushi, Emirates ID’s Executive Director for Registration Centers and Mr. Mohamed Al Shamsi, IT Department Manager at the MOL.
