His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Vice-Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority (Emirates ID) issued a decision appointing Dr. Eng. Ali Al Khouri as Emirates ID’s Acting General Director.
It’s worth mentioning that Dr. Ali Al Khouri served in Abu Dhabi Police G.H.Q for about fourteen years as development manager. During such period, he worked on different strategic projects, including E-Government Portal, Abu Dhabi Traffic & Licensing System, Criminal Security System, ISO, Eye Scan System and other vital projects.
Dr. Ali Al Khouri was there during the different periods of establishing Emirates ID. He became a member of the Identity Card Project Executive Committee since the early periods of establishing it in the Ministry of Interior. After that, he was transferred to Emirates ID as director of Information & Communications Technology. He was also appointed as an assistant to the Central Operations Director. In addition to his new position, Dr. Ali Al Khouri works as the Executive Director for Planning & Quality.
Dr. Ali Al-Khouri obtained the PhD in Administrative Engineering, major of Strategic Projects Management in the Public Sector from University of Warwick in UK with an excellent with honors degree. He is a holder of the Masters Degree in the field of Information Management from Lancaster University and he is also a holder of the Bachelor Degree in Information Technology Management from Manchester University, UK with an excellent with honors degree.
Dr. Eng. Ali Al Khouri issued many books and publications in the field of Project Management, E-Government, Electronic Identification Systems and ID projects. He was granted many international awards for his scientific and practical participations such as the two awards granted to him by UN and EU, and he recently obtained Al-Owais Award for Studies and Scientific Innovation in 2007.
Dr. Ali Al Kouri is currently working as a member of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, University of Manchester and he is supervising two PhD theses and one Masters thesis. He is also a member and fellow of many international professional institutions such as the Scientists Association, UK and the British Association for Information Technology.
