The Federal Authority for Identity and Nationality, Customs and Ports Security approved in mid-January, an increase in fees for issuing and renewing residency permit and identity card, by 100 dirhams under smart services fees for each transaction.
The Authority said, in press statements to Gulf News, that it has succeeded over the years in building an advanced service system that is among the largest at the level of government agencies in the UAE, as that system includes more than 42 services that are provided to customers around the clock, seven days a week and from anywhere in the world through the Authority’s website and smart application, in addition to the customer happiness centers and accredited typing offices in the country.
Mr. Nasser Al-Abdouli, Director of Customer Happiness Department, said that the services provided by the Authority encompass identity services, passports, population census, establishments, residence and foreigners’ affairs, as the range of groups benefiting from the system of services provided by the Authority expands to include all citizens and residents of the country, companies and private sector institutions inside the country, as well as investors, tourists and visitors from outside the country.
Al-Abdouli added that the fees for providing government services are subject to the policies and directives of the Ministry of Finance within the framework of managing the revenue system at the level of federal government agencies, and therefore the approval of any new fees for services stems from the government’s directions and the policy of the Ministry of Finance concerned with managing the federal financial system and within the framework of the objectives of the state’s development plan.
The Director of the Customer Happiness Department pointed out that the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security is keen to develop and improve the services provided based on the aspirations of customers and their current and future needs. He added that the Authority always seeks to tap into modern technologies to provide proactive services that transcend the barriers of time and place and meet the customer’s desire for easy access to the service and with few and easy procedures, which contributes to the happiness of customers and the improvement of the quality of life of society members, which means a high cost of providing the service as a result of the high costs of the technologies used to provide it.
