ALKHALEEJ NEWSPAPER – Brigadier Obaid Bin Suroor, Acting Director of DNRD has stated that the total ID cards that have been activated through electronic gateways are estimated by 113,137 ID cards via Dubai airports, sea ports and border points. Brigadier Obaid added that those who want to activate their ID cards can apply for card programming at DNRD or its external centers in Dubai.
He said that ID card portal service enables its customers, citizens and residents to make use of transferring system through all bodies that deal with the portal system at the border points whenever coming in or going out of the country safely via the portal. He explained that the service has been added to the card for a renewable validity period of two years provided that applicants have a passport valid for at least six months and a valid residence permit for the residents.
Brigadier Obaid Bin Suroor expected an increase of the passengers’ numbers of both citizens and residents at the next period as a result of easiness of procedures, expeditious completion of treatment through travel and saving time and effort through entry and exit ports of the country in addition to providing safety technology advantages, especially as Dubai is one of the important tourist destinations in the world, which lead to the development of plans for the advancement of all services provided to the public of customers “citizens, residents and visitors” in order to participate in the increased facilities to the public and to implement its strategy in accordance with the mechanism developed by the management to provide customer car and to achieve its motto which says.
