The General Consul of Singapore visits Emirates ID

Dr. Eng. Ali Al Khouri the Acting General Director of the Emirates Identity Authority (Emirates ID) discussed today with H.E. Dilib Nayer, the General Consul of the Republic of Singapore in the country the ways of enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two countries.

Dr. Eng. Ali Al Khouri expressed his pleasure for this visit which is to participate in having a clear view of successful electronic transformation experiences in the country, stressing the fact that Emirates ID is keen to utilize state-of-the-art innovative technology in managing this promising national Program in order to, efficiently and actively, participate in this journey of comprehensive development as well as the economic and civilizational development the country is witnessing.

He noted that Emirates ID aims at providing the government of the country with a comprehensive and accurate population register with the highest levels of security in order to help making strategic decisions, a matter which will participate in making the United Arab Emirates one of the developed countries on the regional and international levels.

Dr. Eng. Ali Al Khouri let the General Consul review the procedures of registration for and issuance of an identity card in addition to some other strategic projects currently implemented by Emirates ID for developing and facilitating the methods and mechanisms of registering nationals and residents.

On his part, the General Consul was impressed with the advanced technologies implemented by Emirates ID in the Population Register & Identity Card System and its advanced security features referring to the importance of mutual visits between the two countries for exchanging expertise in the field of ID projects. Moreover, he confirmed supporting this project and the importance of coordination for registering Singaporeans residing in the country for obtaining identity cards. Coordination has been agreed upon between the Consulate and AIDA for registering the citizens of the later in the system during the coming period.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Eng. Ali Al Khouri presented Emirates ID’s plaque and souvenirs to the General Consul.

The meeting was attended by Hatem Al-Hamly, the Chief Financial Officer and Yusuf Al-Balloushi Director of Dubai & Northern Emirates Sector at the Emirates ID.
