The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) held the first Board of Directors’ meeting for the year 2021 under the chairmanship of His Excellency Ali Muhammad Al Shamsi, Chairman of the ICA’s Board of Directors. His Excellency Al Shamsi stated that the meeting falls within the framework of the authority carrying out its process by evaluating the previous phase and discusses aspirations and future directions to achieve its vision and strategic goals.
The meeting agenda includes reviewing the recommendations of the previous sessions, besides discussing the development proposals; the Board has also reviewed the ICA’s achievements in quality and excellence throughout the year 2020, moreover, presenting the Board Governance Guide in UAE Federal Government.
The Board also discussed the internal audit plan to ascertain the effectiveness of the internal control and risk management systems as well as business continuity of the organizational units and their development opportunities.
The Board concluded the meeting with the necessary recommendations to develop further improvements and capabilities at the institutional and individual levels to keep pace with the requirements of the current and future stage of the ICA. His Excellency Chairman of the ICA’s Board of Directors, has praised the efforts and support exerted by the Board’s members in achieving the authority’s objectives, shaping its future efficiently and competently, continuing to work in a team spirit, and the ongoing development in providing services to UAE nationals and residents in accordance with the best practices that rise to the wise leadership aspirations, and contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of ICA globally.
