The Emirates ID Authority and RAK Government Sign a MoU on their Electronic Link

Abdullah bin Humaid Al Qasimi: The Link with the Emirates ID Authority Ensures the Integrity and Credibility of Procedures

• Dr. Al Ghafli: We seek to integrate with the state’s entities so they benefit from the ID card features

Ras Al Khaimah Government and the Emirates ID Authority signed yesterday a memorandum of strategic partnership regarding the electronic link between the local departments of RAK Government and the Authority.

The MoU was signed on behalf of RAK Government by Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid Al Qasimi, head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and on behalf of the Emirates ID Authority by H.E. Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Motlaq Al Ghafli, Director General of the Emirates ID Authority.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid Al Qasimi stressed that the MoU is in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and the follow up of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of the Executive Council, to transform the government transactions in the emirate to paperless working environment. Al Qasimi noted further that the MoU complies with the recommendations of the government meeting to expedite the electronic linking between the government entities with the Emirates ID Authority, pointing to the importance of this linking given the great potential in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and credibility of the procedures, documentation and data in the services provided to customers in the local departments of the Emirate.

He added that the MoU reflects the desire of both parties to provide high-quality and efficient services in order to achieve happiness of customers and realize the strategic aim of the UAE in terms of smart government.
For his part, H.E. Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Motlaq Al Ghafli said that the signing of this MoU comes within the Emirates ID Authority pursuit to promote cooperation and integration between the Authority and the state’s federal and local entities to enable them to benefit from the smart ID card features and the initiatives and projects carried out by the Emirates ID Authority to make the ID card the first and most important service card in the country.

He further explained that the main objective of the Commission of the signing of the strategic partnership agreements with various government institutions is to support its efforts to develop its services and to cooperate with them to devise new ways to serve the residents check their satisfaction and consistent with the country’s leadership approach, which focuses on the happiness of the people by providing the necessary information to support decision-making and planning strategic and vital in different sectors and provide accurate demographic data contribute to the development of society and serve the higher interests of the state.

Al Ghafli looks forward that the signing of the MoU forms the pillar of a significant cooperation between the Emirates ID Authority and RAK Government and the entities affiliated thereto and contributes effectively to support the efforts of both parties to achieve their strategic objectives and to support the government’s efforts to put the UAE among the best countries in the world in the field of service quality in the aim to achieve the UAE vision 2021.
Dr. Al Ghafli explained that the activation of the use of the ID card and adopting the same as the main source of data of beneficiaries of the services of RAK government departments contribute to enhance the customer satisfaction and facilitate the transformation of the services into electronic and smart services given the features of the ID card that facilitate the verification of identity online, which means less documents and steps needed to complete transactions and provide the service relying on the digital gateway ratification, through which the Emirates ID Authority allows a range of services to ensure the accuracy, reliability, safety and integrity of the procedures, documentation and data.

Al Ghafli pointed to the importance of the electronic linking between the Authority and the state’s local and federal entities to enable them to obtain and share data securely, and to update their customers data simultaneously, which help these entities maintaining the privacy of their records and address their plans and resources to achieve their objectives according to the best quality and efficiency standards.

Dr. Al Ghafli called all entities in the country to take advantage of the service and technical potential of the ID card in order to develop the services provided to their customers and reduce the time and effort required to obtain such services, stressing the readiness of the Authority to provide the entities with full support in this area.
