The director and employees of Sharjah Registration Center as well as the center’s customers have signed the pledge launched recently by the Emarat Al Youm newspaper as part of its social initiative that carried the slogan of “I Pledge”, which is aimed at stopping the use of mobile phones while driving.

The center’s employees affirmed that their participation in supporting the “I Pledge” campaign is based on their keenness on contributing to boost culture and disseminate traffic awareness in the society with the aim of avoiding more accidents and saving the lives of all road users.

The employees pointed out that their participation in the “I Pledge” campaign by urging customers to sign the token pledge for several days is in line with the Emirates Identity Authority’s support for the campaign to enable it to achieve its objectives of spreading awareness related to stopping the use of mobile phones, specifically sending SMS messages and texting through mobile phones while driving.

Previously, the Emirates Identity Authority confirmed its full support for the people’s media awareness campaign of “I Pledge” and announced its participation in the campaign by launching a number of awareness campaigns targeting its employees and customers at the level of its departments and centers all over the UAE.

The Emirates Identity Authority commended the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to put an end to the use of mobile phone while driving based on its keenness on maintaining the safety of drivers and road users. It also commended the efforts of the Emarat Al Youm newspaper for launching constructive social and awareness initiatives and also its prominent media role.

The Emirates Identity Authority organized many relevant guidance and awareness seminars for its employees over the past period and circulated the news, analyses and articles related to the campaign through the internal e-mail of its employees. It also adopted the campaign’s slogan on its website and inserted the “I Pledge” logo in its outgoing correspondence. Besides, the Emirates Identity Authority circulated the campaign’s slogan in all its registration centers across the UAE by means of rollups.
