The Emirates Identity Authority has announced its launch of a new service that allows its employees to use self-service machines to obtain the certificates they need including salary and “to whom it may concern” certificates in a record time of less than 30 seconds by using an ID card through an ID card reader.

The Higher Management Committee at the Emirates Identity Authority has been briefed on the details and advantages of this new service that is implemented as part of the 4th theme of the Emirates Identity Authority’s new strategic plan 2010-2013, which is concerned with ensuring corporate development and upgrading the internal services provided to the Emirates Identity Authority’s employees.

By launching this new online service for its employees, the Emirates Identity Authority seeks to automate procedures and alleviate the burdens borne by its HR Department while working on facilitating and expediting the services provided to employees and investing the long time, which used to be taken by the process of obtaining these certificates manually, in other job routes for higher productivity.

The new system is based on ID card, which allows the user’s identity to be identified through his/her personal identification number (PIN). The self-service machine is also linked with the enterprise resource planning and management system (ERP) including the HR Department and can be used through a touch screen and a compact keyboard.

The new system, developed by the ICT Department at the Emirates Identity Authority, will provide the employees with a package of self services through the first phase of operation. New online services will be introduced to the employees this year as soon as the enterprise resource planning and management system has been completed.

The Emirates Identity Authority will start providing self-service machines in its headquarters in Abu Dhabi and in the registration centers across the UAE based on its keenness to provide first-class services to the largest number of its employees numbering around 900.
