Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, reviewed the latest technical achievements presented by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship at the “GITEX Technology Week 2017”.
During the visit of HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan listened to HE Dr. Saeed Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Ghafli, Director General of FAIC, explaining the key services provided by FAIC in the fields of technology, the latest projects, systems, electronic and smart programs and services provided to its customers.
His Highness watched a presentation on the NFC fingerprint reader, which enables fingerprint reading without the need to scan it through traditional fingerprinting devices. This provides the FAIC’s customer happiness centers with a modern, developed, easier and quicker mean to ensure that the applicant for issuance f Emirates ID for the first time is not previously registered in the population register system, the matter which reflects positively on the level of customers satisfaction and shorten the time required to complete their transactions.
His Highness also reviewed the “My Shadow Data” initiative, which allows the holder of the Emirates ID card registered in the initiative to provide his / her personal data in various sectors (health, education, etc.) and the service providers, which enables the service provider to use the customer data stored in the population register system based on an agreement between the parties.
It is noticed that FAIC participates in the exhibition in a pavilion within the federal government platform, offering the services provided by the Verification Gateway (VG) for institutions and individuals, which is one of the most important infrastructure development projects implemented by FAIC to support the process of transformation to the “smart” government and to identify the identities of individuals through digital space and thus facilitate Online transactions and business exchanges, as well as the introduction of its smart mobile application, which allows customers to complete many transactions associated with the Emirates ID on their mobile phones at any time.
