Darwish Al Zaraouni, General Manager of the Emirates Identity Authority stressed that the registration of the employees of more than 70 establishments – together with their families on the country level – in the Population Register & Identity System has been finalized. The total number of establishments that made requests to take advantage of service provided by Emirates ID at their headquarters amounted to 112 establishments, the number of which employees is no less than 1,000.
He explained that the work is currently in progress to register the employees of 12 establishments together with their families. After that, work will begin to register other establishments which submitted requests to Emirates ID to get the service on a gradual basis. He noted that such service will highly contribute to the process of establishing the population registry and issuing ID cards especially in light of the low turnout for registration by residents, as such service will make it easy for them to register at their place of work without the need for going to the registration centers.
He added that, those establishments which do not satisfy the requirements for benefiting from this service must request and incite their employees to quickly register in the Population Register & Identity Card System and issue identity cards which will be the only accepted identification document in the country.
