The Emirates Identity Authority has published a new research titled “An Innovative Approach For eGovernment Transformation” in the International Journal of Managing Value and Supply Chains.
The published research discussed the eTransformation projects in the public sector which demanded vital changes to be made in the designs of the major processes and internal systems of government institutions so as to be in harmony with the concepts and requirements of customer centric.
The research emphasized that achieving such transformation would significantly contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of the services provided by governments to their people in terms of simplifying and facilitating services to reflect positively on raising customer satisfaction rates.
The huge investments in the initiatives carried out by eGovernment worldwide failed to meet the desired expectations and results by effect of the challenges faced in the practical field, the research explained.
The research provided an innovated methodological frame for supporting the implementation of eGovernment programs, which was developed from the practical perspective, benefiting from the practices of a number of eGovernments from different parts of the world. The methodology is aimed at helping practicers draft their strategies and benefit from the applied technologies to achieve the objectives of their projects towards eGovernment transformation.
The research also discussed the role that the projects for advanced ID systems might play to enable traditional ID cards to change into digital ones, referring to the digital ID project, which is currently being carried out in the UAE through the Emirates Identity Authority.
