The Emirates Identity Authority has announced that residency visa issuance procedures will be linked with the ID card registration procedures in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi from next Sunday, October 16, 2011.
The Emirates Identity Authority clarified that under this linkage, customers will have to fill out registration forms in any of the authorized typing centers in Abu Dhabi before undergoing the medical tests in any preventive medicine center (PMC). Subsequently, they should directly visit the Emirates Identity Authority’s registration center attached to the PMC for complete registration procedures (fingerprinting and photographing), so as to be able afterwards to track their residency visa issuance or renewal procedures.
The Emirates Identity Authority pointed out that it started in the past period training the typing offices in how to deal efficiently with the new procedures and that they would be ready next Sunday for dealing with customers’ applications.
The Emirates Identity Authority noted that customers need to present their original passports when filling out their registration forms at the typing center but there is no need for their personal presence. It also noted that the original passport as well as the e-form should be presented when visiting the registration center attached to the PMC for complete ID card registration procedures.
The Emirates Identity Authority pointed out that an ID card holder is required to fill out a (renewal form) and present his/her old ID card at the typing office, noting that he/she will need to visit the registration center for renewal of his/her residency and ID card.
