The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security obtained the international accreditation certificate for the year 2022 from the International Police Work Dog Association “IPWDA” based in North Carolina, USA, in light of its fulfillment of all international requirements approved by the organization, as well as its compliance with various standards related to the human and physical elements, and standards related to the indoor and outdoor environments and training fields, in particular the methods used in the handling of the K9 Customs Security Inspection Unit with vehicles, bags and other assets.
The certificate was received by His Excellency Ahmed Abdullah bin Lahej Al Falasi, Acting Director General of Customs, from Mr. Tracy Campbell, President of the International Police Work Dogs Association, in presence of many directors and managers from the Authority.
It is worthwhile mentioning that the organization carries out the annual evaluation of the K9 Customs Inspection Unit of the Authority, as the unit is the first to be accredited in the Middle East region, and includes 74 accredited specialized teams of trainers and search dogs.
