ID card registration to be linked with Fujairah residence procedures from January 30, 2011

In implementation of the second theme of the new registration plan emanating from the Emirates Identity Authority’s strategy 2010-2013, the Emirates Identity Authority will start activating the service related to linking the ID registration with the residence issuance and renewal procedures in Fujairah from Sunday, January 30, 2011.

In a press release, Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Maamari, Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Emirates Identity Authority, said the second stage of the gradual expansion with respect to activating the service of linking ID registration with the residence issuance and renewal procedures would start with the trial operation in Fujairah.

The ID Registration Center in Fujairah would start registering residents for ID cards after their completion of preventive medicine procedures, he added, noting that registration for ID cards in Dibba Al-Fujairah would be made inside the preventive medicine center.

Al Maamari explained that the receipt that proves registration for ID card would be a major part of the documents required to be provided by all Fujairah residents as soon as the residence issuance or renewal procedures are initiated in the General Directorate for Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Fujairah.

Following their completion of the medical examination procedures at preventive medicine centers, resident applicants would be received in the following locations: Fujairah ID Registration Center and ID office inside the Dibba Al-Fujairah Preventive Medicine Center, he said.

As for the procedures for obtaining ID cards for the residents who are in the process of applying for residence issuance or renewal in Fujairah, Al Maamari explained that the first step for them is to visit an authorized typing office in Fujairah where the ID registration form would be processed and the due fees would be collected against a receipt.

He pointed out that after completing the necessary procedures at the typing offices, the applicants would go to the Fujairah Preventive Medicine Center for medical examination and subsequently to the Fujairah ID Registration Center or the ID office inside the Dibba Al-Fujairah Preventive Medicine Center for completion of ID registration procedures.

It is worth mentioning that the Emirates Identity Authority’s activation of the theme of linking registration for ID cards with residence issuance and renewal procedures through the registration centers annexed or adjacent to preventive medicine centers started in Umm Al Quwain as a first stage for implementing the second theme of the Emirates Identity Authority’s new registration plan.
