The Emirates Identity Authority has announced the launch of a process to link ID car registration procedures with residence issuance and renewal procedures in Al Ain City on a test basis from tomorrow Thursday.
Based on the new linkage, a resident who applies for a residence visa issuance or renewal will have to present the ID card registration or the ID renewal receipt if he/she has an expired ID card.
The Emirates Identity Authority expressed its thanks and appreciation of the diligent efforts exerted by the general department of residency and foreigners affairs – Al Ain to complete the project of linking the residence issuance and renewal procedures with the ID card registration procedures in Al Ain.
The linkage of the ID card registration procedures with the residence issuance and renewal procedures in Al Ain comes as part of a phased integrated plan that is being implemented across the UAE. According to the plan, a resident should register in ID card in order for his/her residence visa to be issued or renewed.
The Emirates Identity Authority pointed out that it had launched the ID card registration service through its center near the Preventive Health Examination Center (Preventive Medicine) and the building of the General Department of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Al Ain.
The Emirates Identity Authority clarified that based on the process of linking the new procedures of the ID card and residence visa in Al Ain, a customer has now to fill out a registration form at an authorized typing office in Al Ain before making the medical examination at the Preventive Medicine Examination Center. Subsequently, a customer has to go directly to the ID card registration center annexed to the Preventive Medicine Center without the need to get a prior appointment before coming to the last stage of completing the residence procedures (Issuance or renewal).
The Emirates Identity Authority pointed out that in the current stage the linkage of procedures between the ID card and residence will not be applicable to children under 15 years, noting that those with expired ID cards and seeking renewal of their residence need not to give their fingerprints again unless in exceptional situations where the fingerprints are not clear.
