ID Card is Mandatory for Traffic and Licensing Transactions throughout the State

WAM / Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General of Traffic Coordination at the Ministry of Interior, announced that the traffic and patrol departments as well as vehicle and driver licensing departments throughout the state require the use and presentation of ID cards and registration receipt that proves that the person had filled out the e-form to complete all procedures relating totraffic and licensing services provided by these departments.

Al Zaabi said that this decision comes in the wake of the ID card being recognized as official document of identification. Persons not having ID cards must apply for one in order to complete the procedures relating to traffic transactions.

He stressed on the requirement of an ID card for the completion of transactions while maintaining the standards of accuracy and reliability calling upon the public to obtain ID cards as soon as possible. He stated that for the completion of any of the transactions in the traffic and patrol departments and the vehicle and driver licensing departments across the country, the applicant must have and present the ID card. He added that none of the transactions will be accepted or received without obtaining the ID card or registration receipt.
